Since I don't have access to the Fedora machine 4 days a week (I tried WoL stuff, but the combination closed laptop+fedora+WoL didn't work very well), I'll be continuing my development efforts on a virtual machine on my Windows host.
Unfortunately the only VM I still had lying around did not have enough free space for the DES and the coroutine JDK. After making some room and installing maven, I still got pretty weird errors. My coin dropped (only Flemish people will get that one) quickly and I realized that that VM was a 32bit VM, while the prebuilt coroutine JDK was 64bit software. A 64bit fedora image I tried was way too slow to be practical.
I'll be downloading a 64bit linux image tomorrow on campus to spare my home internet connection. By sheer luck the benchmark machine does run a 64-bit version so that's nice.
