This week's progress

This week I met with Kurt and Silas to talk about getting the GES up and running.

Surprisingly enough, after installing the latest JDK6, Eclipse Indigo, Maven and Subversion, actually getting the GES to run was surprisingly easy. I even managed to get the relevant parts in Eclipse without many issues.

I did have some trouble getting VisualVM to run, as evidenced by the previous blogpost. I'm also looking forward to the conversion from svn to hg/git/bzr/anything but svn. I really don't like svn and it doesn't seem to like me either.

Furthermore, I also made an EventQueue interface that's easier to implement than an AbstractQueue and have started thinking about implementing a HashMapEventQueue. I'm still figuring out what values are known when (SchedulableMulticoreComparator is a major influence) for an event, and how to combine them into a unique and sortable key.
